Paolo Pascutto studied Literature at the University of Trieste. The artist is a self-taught painter, his style distinguished by a veristic use of depth and scale. Pascutto’s work has a dramatic billboard quality, recalling David Hockney’s schematic division of canvas, as well as a satirical tone. A photo realist, Pascutto achieves a rather satirical dreamlike effect through the tension between the living subjects and the mass-produced elements as well as iconic motifs such as film noir imagery. The artist works in bright acrylic and tempera, and has a style clearly linked to the British and American traditions of Pop Art, particularly the unique work of American painter James Rosenquist. Ever versatile Pascutto works in many mediums including performance, graphic design, illustration, branding, media and music. We present a unique selection of Pascutto’s works, and are very pleased to be part of bringing these fascinating works to the UK.
